Meonstoke School is a
small rural school (up to 81 pupils) situated in the heart of one of the
beautiful Meon Valley villages. It was founded as a National School in
1842 and as a Church of England Voluntary Controlled School it has retained
its close links with the church. The original flint building was extended
in 1961 and again in 1996 and 2004 to provide extra classrooms, a hall,
cloakrooms and office.
We are very proud of our school grounds, which parents, pupils and staff
have developed into a conservation area. We use them as an extension to
our classrooms where the children learn to love and care for their immediate
and greater environment. The commitment and close co-operation of staff,
parents and governors contribute greatly to the family atmosphere of a
school which has such a visible history and which is valued as an important
part of the community.
